Dutch bottle purchased in Finland from a former Olympic official resident in Helsinki.
The city hosted the Olympic Games in 1952, and Coca-Cola, like everywhere else, wanted to promote the drink. Since no one was producing Coca-Cola in Finland at the time, 100,000 bottles were lent from Coca-Cola in the Netherlands. Quite a decent amount of bottles requested in a short matter of time. And a demand that German Ruhrglas could meet. Finland promised to return all the bottles back to the Netherlands after the Olympics, which succeeded. Almost. Later in 1957, Coca-Cola was bottled locally in Finland for the first time in this type of bottle.
